Hollaback girl is about Courtney Love. Courtney called her a cheerleader in an interview so Gwen replied with Hollaback girl. Meaning she won’t be that girl who is all talk and will talk shit to you back and forth. She’s the girl that’s gonna meet you at bleachers and is gonna take you out. Another one bites the dust. She put in the bananas part to basically say, “I’m so famous that I can make a song where I spell out a fruit and make it a hit.” That’s why she said “I won.” Because Hollaback girl was one of the biggest songs of the 2000s, it hit number one in 2005, and was the first song to reach 1 million downloads on iTunes.
