In Black Swan, BTS enter the deep side of their 'me' to confront their 'shadows' that haunt them as artists. The reason for the song is thanks to the phrase of the dancer Martha Graham: "A dancer dies twice - once when he stops dancing, and it is that first death that hurts the most." It expresses the fear that they have as musicians towards the moment when they can no longer stand on stage. Through 'Black Swan', BTS express that they know that throughout their career at some point they will face a death like that, where the music will no longer make them feel excited or moved. But every time the fear of that happening to you presents itself, the voice of your 'ego' will speak from a corner of your heart and make you realize that the moment you face the 'black swan' within paradoxically it is also the minute when they will understand that they have nothing but the music itself. They deliver this confession as artists who have truly learned what music means to them in a profound way through mature, autobiographical lyrics.

The chorus makes possibly reference to two BTS songs - In an ocean where all light is sunk in silence (Sea) - I feel again on my feet that I have taken the wrong path (Path) Sea is about how BTS felt that they were in a desert when they began their journey as artists. A dry and bleak panorama. However, they interpreted it as something they had to go through to get to something better: the ocean. But when they reached the ocean, they realized that it was nothing more than a blue desert. I had the translation of this song on my channel but they downloaded the video for me ;; this week I will put an edited audio so I can re-upload it. On the other hand, Path is a song where they talk about the uncertainty of where life will take them, how things would be if they had chosen a different path and what path they will travel tomorrow. In Black Swan they say that at this moment they are, as in Sea, in an ocean that did not meet their expectations. An ocean where everything is dark and makes you feel afraid.

This fear makes them think that perhaps choosing this life, this path, was not the best decision. Finally in the song they conclude that this is what they were born for, music, so they should not regret anything despite the anguish they may feel from time to time. The song is divided into two parts, the second one begins in Yoongi's second verse (min 1:43). This second part, according to the description of the song, has to do with the "Ego", about which we will know and know better in a week when they release the song and video of the same name.

Watching over and over again when Tae's foot hits Hobi's face (2:30). OMG, it must had hurt cause he touched his face but the way he continued on with the performance... My dear Hobi..

2:30 Unfortunately Taehyung's foot hit really hard right on Jhope's head and the fact that he controlled himself and didn't let it effect the performance is just so.... I don't know exactly what to say but what I know is that they are the real definition of dedication and professionalism. I was also not able to notice that before I watch their behind the scenes in which hobi said that he was going to faintbut during the performance neither V panicked nor Jhope!!
Edit: I watched it a long time ago, right after they performed this but I don't know why m I commenting this all now?!

I only just started to “tune in” to BTS relatively recently (my first video of them was their performance of Boy with Luv on SNL, that’s the video that convinced me to look into them in the first place) and it is my firm belief that, though they may not be the current best sellers on the planet (yet), that metaphorical crown belongs to Drake as of right now, but in terms of sheer talent? BTS is on top, hands down. I am no stan, and have no intention of calling myself one whatsoever, I hate when people call themselves that, but here’s what I liken BTS to. All of ARMY is going to agree with me, I’m sure. BTS is like that one science project you got in school that nobody wants to go on after because no one can ever top it. If you go on after BTS performs, may God help you. But yeah, just, the best in the music world right now, not in sales, but in talent. I would give some purple, but I’m still a pretty fresh recruit, I got no right to yet XD (editing to say that if you would kind stranger, please read my other 2 replies on this, just so I can clear my stances on the word “stan” up, thanks in advance)

So far this performance of B.S. remains as my favorite. They've done some amazing stages but the camera is close enough, the setting, the colors the bare feet, their voices, their breathing.... Just outstanding, a work of art

And so I've returned, three months after watching this video on a curious whim and falling deeply into the BTS rabbit hole. I never would have expected I'd find such versatile music, such stellar performances and the vocals on these guys!! Never mind the deeply introspective lyrics to many of their songs or the so very genuine wish that each member has to do good in the world, the responsibility they've chosen to take on. Their music has moved me more than anything has in years. BTS has brought me joy and brought me to tears, tears of sadness and tears of release through validation.

Three months ago I was so embarrassed and bashful about becoming an ARMY. I've never been a fan of celebrity or performer in the way that I am a fan of these guys, shame can get fucked, BTS is incredible. To anyone feeling that shame right now remember that "Art is anything that moves you" and if it moves you it's worthwhile because you are worthwhile. I couldn't be more grateful for the richness their music has brought to my life and the laughs their humor (and the humor of ARMY- y'all are hilarious wtf) has given me in these trying af times.

To anyone doubting- give them a chance, learn their names, watch their carpool karaoke and let them help you laugh! You deserve that. Listen to this song and Paradise and Tomorrow and Daechwita and Persona, No More Dream and Boy With Luv! See all of the different ways in which they tell their stories. They're not the biggest band in history for nothing.

I want to publicly apologize to every BTS fan that I've judged in the past. These guys are insanely talented and I can't believe that K-pop fans are constantly a target for mockery. I've officially fallen into the BTS rabbit hole

I came here to rewatch this performance because it's one of my fav I just became an army a few months ago and realizing how many people after the big success of Dynamite has given BTS a chance makes me so happy, these guys if you go and listen to them without prejudice can change your whole perspective, their success it's definitely not given randomly they've worked extremely hard to get where they are and even if you're not become an army but just respect them with the recognition they deserve you just learn something new.

We always welcome u to ur new home
And also those who don't like them bcz they have different taste in music it's ok then also
But giving them a try and not judging is a winning situation in itself
We don't want every human on this earth to stan bts but the only thing that bothers us is unnecessary hate
Ik famous celebs get hate and trolled too much but ngl being an army since 2017 i can tell the amount of hate that bts gets till today no one gets this much hate when they don't harm anyone and r simply passion about their music

Just don't judge them bcz they're Asians or Koreans
