Playtime Comments : [Beyoncé] Beyoncé - Love Drought

le********:
1:08 to me, personally, one of the most beautiful 10 seconds out of anything I have seen in my 19 years of life. The romantic impact of "...but you are the love of my life" contrasting with the artist abandoned by herself in a building made to cultivate companionship (through enjoying sports with loved ones), looking vulnerable as she lies on a foetus position... Beautiful!

Look at 1:10, the stadium lights at the top of the camera frame all glimmer in perfect, symmetrical sequence as the camera pulls back!

And to add to this orgasm of creativity, that juicy bass comes in with the most heavenly synth-wave note scale I've heard. I showed this to my one-year old and before Beyonce even started singing she was already shaking her hips to rhythm, smiling!

Art, my motherfuckas, art! Lindissimo!

Beyonce brought back culture to popular music!! Love it

Coming from someone who wouldn't consider themselves a member of the Beyhive - but rather someone who appreciates talent and hard work - "Lemonade" was an incredibly imagined, developed and executed body of work. Obviously it takes a village to create something so enthralling and satisfactory but Beyonce really carried this vision so effortlessly yet excruciatingly well. She executes the pain and the struggle towards 'better' so well throughout the vision of the album (vocally) and then visually with the movie/video as well. Lemonade has sparked so many intellectual conversations in pop culture that rarely exist in the spectrum - especially in the arena of Black artists (which has been growing with indie artists like SZA, Dawn Richard, WILLOW, Gallant and more). Don't worry so much about her not being awarded by the Recording Academy. Start increasing your value in institutions that reflect your views and the artistry you value. Start demanding more quality from the BET Awards, start with viewing the NAACP with the same fervor that we watch the Grammy's with. You Matter. Celebrate the places that show you that your voice, your story, your feelings and YOUR LIFE matter. Everyone is clear on the fact that "Lemonade" was the stronger body of work - that doesn't take away from the greatness of "25" - everyone is not clear on who speaks for the people who lament "Lemonade" as the AOTY. Clear up the uncertainty. View those awards. Catch the Grammy's on YouTube (If you're a Nielsen Family) and watch the award shows that you agree with and work to change the one's you don't.

Beyonce's last three albums are modern classics

Ke*************:

This is the most beautiful song on Lemonade. Am I lying?

Ma*************:
My favorite song by her.
I'm not a Stan either!
But this is Dope!

Ad********:

This is one of the most beautiful songs and one of my favorite

Fl*************:
This sound like the sad version of Motivation by Kelly Rowland

la**********:
People don't like her now because she's maturing with her music lol as you get older you don't do things that you did in your 20s or else you start look like Madonna or something. Stop being ignorant haters and just what B has to offer, god knows how long she may preform considering that she has 3 babies now. #foreveraqueenbfan

Be***********:

[Verse 1]
Ten times out of nine, I know you‘re lying
But nine times out of ten, I know you're trying
So I'm trying to be fair
And you're trying to be there and to care
And you're caught up in your permanent emotions
All the loving I've been giving goes unnoticed
It's just floating in the air, lookie there
Are you aware you're my lifeline, are you tryna kill me?
If I wasn't me, would you still feel me?
Like on my worst day? Or am I not thirsty, enough?
I don't care about the lights or the beams
Spend my life in the dark for the sake of you and me
Only way to go is up, skin thick, too tough

[Chorus]
Cause you, you, you, you and me could move a mountain
You, you, you, you and me could calm a war down
You, you, you, you and me could make it rain now
You, you, you, you and me could stop this love drought

[Verse 2]
Nine times out of ten, I'm in my feelings
But ten times out of nine, I'm only human
Tell me, what did I do wrong?
Feel like that question has been posed
I'm movin' on
I'll always be committed, I been focused
I always paid attention, been devoted
Tell me, what did I do wrong?
Oh, already asked that, my bad
But you my lifeline, think you tryna kill me?
If I wasn't B, would you still feel me?
Like on my worst day? Or am I not thirsty, enough?
I don't care about the lights or the beams
Spend my life in the dark for the sake of you and me
Only way to go is up, them old bitches so wack
I'm so tough, wassup?

[Chorus]
Cause you, you, you, you and me could move a mountain
You, you, you, you and me could calm a war down
You, you, you, you and me could make it rain now
You, you, you, you and me would stop this love drought

[Outro]
You and me would stop this love drought

Na*****:
when the ancestors got off that ship and walked back in the water to go back to Africa and drowned because they knew dying was better than bondage shout out to Beyonce paying homage to the ancestors

ro*******:
It's really hard to spot but the shot of her lying on the football field is playing in reverse.

Ja********:

She definitely won me over with this album irregardless of what the Grammy say

Sh***********:

The intro is inspirational... I kinda cried nah go’ lie

Ch***********:
All the love I’m giving it goes unnoticed it just floating in the air my fav line

As*******:

I just got cheated on by the love of my life. I’ve been holding him down for so long. I love him so much still. But he stabbed my heart and it hurts. When Beyoncé took Jay back, I thought she was stupid. But I’m now in the same position. It’s crazy what love makes you do. As I’m listening to Lemonade everyday now, I get mixed feelings about fucking up becky but also remaining a humble and classy queen and approaching it a different way. Be strong ladies, it’s gonna hurt like a bitch but God made us stronger than men for a reason.

Ti******:

Great representation of the Igbo people. This was visually deep

Ki*****:
This entire video is like a beautiful painting

Ro********:

I broke up with my ex September the 6. Its been a month i was so cold to her. I shouldve done so much different. I shouldve gave her reassurance and i shouldve cared and tried. i finally texted her three days ago and today she sent me this telling me to listen to this album. I truly messed up and i truly hurt her. I shouldve learned the first time now its to late. So much regret.

Ya*******:
This album is a masterpiece. The Grammys weren't doing it right. Even Adele knew she doesn't deserve it

ar****:
The beat is so satisfying

Je***********:

I really like this melody.

Ma*******:

My favorite song on the album

R*:
This is actually painful to watch

Ki************:
This flows through your whole body

Na**********:

Why does this work of art have only 10 million views...people sleep

Vi************:
You can hear the Solange influence in this song

PP*****:
YOU SHOULD'VE WON ALBUM OF THE YEAR. This album is iconic and avant-garde sophistication. For those who don’t know, Igbo Landing is the location of a mass suicide of Igbo slaves that occurred in 1803 on St. Simons Island, Georgia. As the story goes, a group of Igbo slaves revolted and took control of their slave ship, grounded it on an island, and rather than submit to slavery, proceeded to march into the water while singing in Igbo, drowning themselves in turn. They all chose death over slavery. It was an act of mass resistance against the horrors of slavery and became a legend, particularly amongst the Gullah people living near the site of Igbo Landing.
In the video, Beyoncé marches into the water followed by a group of black women all in white with black fabric in the shape of a cross across the front of their bodies. They march progressively deeper into the water before pausing and raising all of their hands toward the sunset, seeking liberation through death.
