The coal bunker fire was midship and on the opposite side of the iceberg damage.
For nearly one hundred years no one questions the MOUNTAIN of testimony saying that it was an Iceberg that sunk the Titanic.

Modern people using a cheesy movie as reference: "You know, I don't think it was an Iceberg...."
