Why are people so surprise that it reminds them of Sheldon Cooper? It's the same face, voice, accent, etc. Actors don't completely shapeshift when playing a role. Sheldon doesn't joke and smile that much for one thing! And you would get the same feeling from watching an interview with any sitcom actor... Just watch a David Schwimmer interview and tell me you don't see Ross Geller... Or a Steve Carell interview and don't see Michael Scott... or a Neil Patrick Harris interview and don't see Barney Stinson...
