Just saw it. I think it definitely captured the spirit of the book. The "degloving" scene was fucking hardcore!

This is a suprisingly good movie, I totally recommend this to others. There are some scenes where you might cringe but overall I think this movie is a masterpiece.

Holy Moly...I just watched it and came here to comment. My freaking goodness I'm going to have nightmares for days. Also, that movie is definitely made to make you feel uncomfortable the whole time. It's stressful and scary, she plays amazingly that's for sure but I just hated the experience. I guess horror's not for me haha

Okay, call me a wuss. I came back here from the movie and I couldn't watch the whole trailer. I'm too scared of Moonlight Man being in there shivers

Honestly though, one of my currently favourite movies. I almost shat myself with fear the entire time. Didn't know it was an adaption until I googled it afterwards but I kept saying "Smells like Stephen King to me". At one point (don't remember it much) they even had a little "Dark Tower" reference in it if I'm not mistaken?
Awesome, awesome, awesome. NEVER watching this again. I'm so freaking scared of it, holy shit

I'm just impressed this movie ever got made, as this was long considered to be the one totally unfilmable King book. I mean, the bulk of it takes place in one room, much of that action in the mind of the main character as she struggles with her past trauma and tries to stay sane and alive...a main character who spends most of the film nearly naked and handcuffed to the bed. Nothing about it screams "cinematic." And yet here we are, and in the hands of a genuinely gifted horror director (Mike Flannigan) as well. Hope for the best.

I've always thought Gerald's Game would make for a good movie.
