From friend zone to end zone, I love that! That's how my boyfriend and I are today. We met in 4th grade when I was 9 and he was 10. Went to elementary, middle, and high school together. I ended up having a really big crush on him in 8th grade, but at that time he only liked and dated the popular girl, whereas I was just the friendly girl. But, 11 years later and we are now dating one another and have been together for 9 months now. Happy to say he's my soul mate!

HAH THIS IS A MESSAGE TO YOU CYNICS OUT THERE THAT ROM COMS AREN'T ALWAYS UNREALISTIC AND LOVE EXSITS. This is a rom com in real life guys. Ashton was Mila's first kiss. They were friends before. They meet years later, both have grown and become hotter (typical romance movie plot) Her heart skips a beat seeing him again. It was just the wrong timing before.. Oblivious to their feelings, he sets her up with his friend. They become friends with benefits and they're just like "no attachments, okay?" Friends with benefits turned to love. And the rest was history.

This probably isn't how it happened at all because my inner rom com geek came out but maybe it's close?

My husband and I were friends for 4 years before dating, then one day when we were both single, I saw him at a college party and felt wildly attracted to him, tried to put on the brakes because i cared so much for him and didn't want to mess anything up. There had been times in those 4 years that I had felt strongly attracted to him, but either I was dating someone else, or he was, so I had told myself I thought of him 'like a brother.' Biggest lie ever! He kept asking me for help with his homework in college, even took a class with me as an excuse to be around me, and we kept coming up with reasons why we should go see movies just the two of us. Finally, we admitted that we wanted to be a couple. A lot of it was long distance, though, he was in the military and lived in Germany, and deployed twice during that time. We broke up for about two years during that time because of the distance, but got back together when it became apparent we couldn't live without each other. We ended up married about 4 years after we started dating, 8 years after we first met. We've been married 12 years now, 4 kids. It can happen.
