My family have grown watermelons for years. Small, backyard gardens. Cracks can form on the inside flesh without chemicals being used. One simple reason can be it wasn't watered enough. It's flesh is simply drier.

th*********:

what a lie. I have been eating water mellow like this, 60 years before that growth chemical.

Nice ice age clip

9 minutes??? I could have already gone to the store, bought one and been stuffing my mouth with it by now; instead I'm still here staring and drooling at the screen.

Po***********:
We grow our own watermelons and they're full of cracks soooo..

mi*****:

This is misleading. Growing up we raised an acre of watermelon. Cracking inside meant sweeter. They were the best.

mi******:

You must be nuts, do you how much watermelons cost. I'm not throwing nothing out. I'm taking it back and getting a refund. I work hard for my money.

Sa************:

Some cracked watermelons I've eaten were sweeter than regular one.

Aw*:

One more video with false info and Im done with yall.

Id*****:
That is the sign of a ripe watermelon. I eat them all the time! Never made me sick.

Dr*********:

I just had a cracked watermelon and it was sweet like honey ,when I first saw this video I freaked out then did a little research and found out that it's a hoax , thankfully I dint threw my watermelon

Bunch of bull! Different types of watermelon come in different colors, shapes and amount of shine. My grandfather grew watermelon that cracked in the late 70's and early 80's. he rarely put anything other than compost on his garden!

xo******:
why do we import any food from china?

Pa***********:
I am a huge watermelon fan, I love it so much that just like Mr. Bright side I want it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, like if you love watermelon too.

Me******:

Thank you. It's the middle of the winter here where I live, and now I'm craving a watermelon

Ja*:

98 percent of watermelons I've eaten throughout my life have been cracked or pale....

An**********:

So let's just back up the truck a bit. We grew lots of watermelons in Africa. Often they were cracked inside. Those were often the sweetest. Did we inject them with chemicals or use pesticides? No! The cracks are due to how much and when they got water. Drought years often produced hollow heart watermelons (i.e. cracked inside) and sweeter fruit because the sugars were concentrated in less flesh. Here in Canada we've bought organic melons that were cracked inside. If you support your community and buy from local farmers that have bee hives on their land, you won't be buying one that's been sprayed with pesticides or injected with chemicals.

Ra**********:
The ones with the cracks usually taste the best tho

EYYYYY MY B-DAY IS AUGUST 3RD
AND AUGUST 3RD IS WATERMELON DAY
IM A WATERMELON COMFIRMED

TC********:
I have literally eaten hundreds of watermelons with cracks. It is actually a good sign that the watermelon is particularly good.

Better advice? Don't eat watermelons from China.

ci*********:
Lol. Cracks on the inside of a watermelon means only that it is a little over ripe. My family has grown watermelons for years, and I can't count the number of these over ripe melons I have consumed over the years.

Za************:
Wait I have a question

Why do you put weird images?

ps***:
What a crock about the cracks in watermelon. It's just a "natural condition called hollow heart.” “Hollow heart develops when there is poor pollination during the growth process that creates cracks inside of the watermelon."
Inconstant watering also causes cracks resulting from growth spurts.
The best watermelon I've eaten are bright red with cracks. And usually seeded ones are better. Haven't gotten sick yet.
As far as this YouTube video is concerned, there is definitely truth to the old adage. "Don't believe everything you see on the Internet", in regards to those "cracks".

De************:
My stepdad used to grow watermelon- Those cracks also appear if it's left on the vine too long. Overwatering makes them pale and less sweet. They rot at the seeds first. Dry ones get a weird texture.

Pe*************:
This is baloney! We have been growing organic heirloom watermelons on our farm for 25+ years, certain types get big cracks inside naturally and the white seeds are simply either non heirloom meaning they aren't seeds you can plant or they are just unripe seeds. Mishaped melons have many causes like growing along another one, against a rock etc.
Maybe some places use that chemical on theirs, but I know for a fact it would be hard to find at an American farmers market. At least here in the southwest. We take pride that our farm grown produce tastes wonderful and is much better for you than store bought.

[BRIGHT SIDE] We gathered comments about popular videos and looked at them in summary, including play time, and order of popularity.

It's a good video or channel, but if you're sad because it's too long, please leave a YouTube channel or video link and I'll post it on this blog.
