So bare with me but I think in reality in order for high school romance to really become lifetime the couple has to break up and live their life in order to get back together. High school couples who stay together forever seem like they are in a Trump cuz all they know is each other without experiencing new things. Then someone strays off and cheats. Whereas a high school couple who get back together are extra committed forever cuz they been out there and they dont want anyone else besides each other. Thats what I want for Noah and Elle.
So work with me here. In my fandom for this, I figured Elle and Noah probably do break up while in college. Elle discovers her true passion for dancing and moves to NY to pursue a career. Her and Lee are still best friends but they gotta live their lives.
Unfortunately years later tragedy would be the catalyst to bring Noah and Elle back together. With Lee being in a car accident and getting killed. Elle loosing her bestie and Noah loosing his brother will be what reconnects them. And then Noah telling Elle he never got over her. And has kept up with her career thru his mom.
