When women make songs about abusive men, the whole world listens. When men do it, the world says "get over it, you're a man" as if men cannot be emotionally abused by women. People criticized this song for being "whiny" and self-interested, when the lyrics tell us he's been loyal to her for a LONG time but she never loved him back. I love this song because I've spent my whole damn life trying to please everybody. I can feel his pain in every verse, it's truly genuine.


EDIT (3/27/20). When I posted this comment around mid-February, I was going through some serious family problems and I discovered this song for the first time. The beautiful instrumental, unique music video, and Mars' passionate voice helped me through that emotionally painful month. I made this comment because I had to thank this song in some way. What I didn't expect was the incredible response it got. Thank you all for your support, it means a lot.
