I have a boat story! So at camp me and my friends forgot we had to go canoeing that day so we weren’t wearing swimsuits. We were doing fine but there was this gust of wind that, on our way back, made our canoe flip over, us, the one group without swimsuits, the only group that got our canoe flipped over.. anyways, we managed to get our canoe flipped back around, not with the help of the person in charge of that activity. Camp was fun.

flashback to the time 5 year old me went on a boat ride and was terrified of losing my sandals even though I had no intentions of putting my feet outside the boat "I feel ya.."

Sooo... that’s the class I was in, it was called the gifted class. The only way you can understand how much everyone else in the other classes hated us was if you lived it yourself. Everybody took every little opportunity they had to stick it to us. In elementary school, building a snow fort in winter with your class meant it was yours. One day one of the other classes starts picking it apart during a “science experiment”. When we all step outside and start yelling at them (we were in a portable), the teacher even tells them to go faster. I got sent to the office twice a week because everybody else told the teachers we did stuff that we didn’t do like throw rocks at each other (you can’t exactly get away with that in grade 3). In my 5 years in that class I never learned how to verbally or physically defend myself because in our own room we all got along so well. So 6th grade rolls around and my family moves to a town with no gifted class. That went just about as well as you might expect. It was so bad I had suicidal thoughts for 8 months of 10 that year. I faked sick on so many Monday’s that my mom took me to get blood work done and it turned out I had low iron because of the amount of days I only ate the chocolate bars hidden in the pantry and not enough meat.
