It reminds me in October 2018 when I had to let my cat, my best friend, go. I got him as a stray when I was a kid, he was neglected and abandoned, and I promised him that that would never happen again. The day I put him down I could tell he had given up, and I had to let him go, it was selfish of me to keep trying to barely keep him alive when he was suffering. I miss him every single day of my life, a huge part of me died with him. His whole life he always took care of me and tried to make me happy and it was my job in the end to be there for him no matter how much it hurt.

Notwithstanding my "advanced" age (62), while listening to the lyrics my interpretation of this song is that of a couple, who despite how difficult it is decide they would be "happier" if they ended their relationship. But somehow this video doesn't seem to address that issue, but rather sets forth to narrate the story of a girl's inner struggles and pain from an early age caused by consistently being bullied and made fun of. And just for good measure we have a seriously sad 'Marley & Me' theme intertwined with the story line displaying her dog's unconditional love and support for her throughout this. Now I'll admit, despite being an exceptionally POWERFUL and MIGHTY manly man lol, I may have teared up a little watching this one... I wish this video could have been played at my school 50 years ago. I believe if bullies could see the devastating affect of their behavior towards those who appear to be weak, defenseless and easy targets and witness their private suffering it would make a lot of kid's lives "happier".
