This song reminds me of my best friend. She was super pretty and kind, but she recently just died, and she was only 14. I honestly cared about her more then a friend. I’ve been in a wreck lately, she had a whole life ahead of her, she was just about to start her freshman year. I’ve just been straight down depressed, can’t believe that she’s gone at the age of 14. I’m afraid I’ll never find someone like her again, because she was literally the best, and I never could’ve asked for a better friend.

I used to listen to this song without even understanding the true meaning of the lyrics. But now I totally get every word of it. It's a song about forgiveness and letting your love one be happy with what truely makes them happy. Even though that means you being out of the picture.

today marks the end of my relationship with my baby's father..he played this song before he left..me and my son hugged him from the back..i told him to "take care" and he answered back "always" as he goes. i love him and i don't know if there's still a sense in waiting for us to get fixed on our own ways..far away from each other..we met here in japan and we both leaving the country soon.. he's gonna go back to America bc of his work and I'm going back home to the Philippines coz i don't have anymore reasons to stay here.i am very sad rn and i know I'll be crying and listening to this song till it finally numb all the pain.. I met someone through twitter, we started talking, and we both realized we both really understand each other. We both were introverts in our lives and both are from different countries. we both go through a lot everyday, and i always listen to her, whenever it be. Even not being physically there, i was able to comfort her, always knew her "i'm fine" when she was not really, and we talked and one day she was not able to sleep and woke up at 5 to a nightmare, and there was a feeling in me that something is isn't right and i messaged her and she said how did you know i am not feeling well. Few days later, things changed, she started her class 12, started talking to her other friends more, which i really liked because she was physically with them, in a better environment, but slowly we started talking less. From a good morning text, it has now turned to a have a nice day once a day and seems formal to her. I don't know what happened, but now she looks at me as a "virtual friend" rather than a person who is there for her no matter what. If you are reading this, please know, i want to see you smile no matter what, knowing if that means i have to leave, I could spend my whole life getting over you.

I just wanna say how special this song is to me. It really helped me through my break up and helped reassure that what I was doing was for the best. I had heard of marshmello but never really listed to his music, but then I decided to one night. Then I listened to this song, at first I saw the music video and almost bawled from it. Then I gave it a few more listens and realized what it was really about. Breaking up still wasn't easy, but this song helped me cope with all the stress and self doubt that came with it. I'm hoping that we'll both be happier and that in doing this I can improve myself and not make the same mistakes I made in this relationship.
