if aerogel absorbs all the water from the insects to kill them, how would it interact with the actual plants we’re trying to protect? and how would it disrupt the rest of the ecosystem once it became runoff? we know that insecticides are bad but it took decades before we knew how DEET was destroying the environment. how would it interact inside the human body after consumption of plants/food treated with aerogel based insecticides? how is long term use and build up of aerogel being considered?
