Playtime Comments : [Insider] Why Stunt People Don't Get Oscars | Movies Insider

im*******:

5:28 lmao that camera man deserves an award

Ra******:
5:28 props to the camera man xD

Ca*******:

5:28 Massive respect for this camera man

me*********:
5:27 even the cameraman does stunts too

Ja*********:
I like how at 4:16, 4:17 the guy with the '4' Sign cut out a little piece of his sign so that the 'Oscars' sign behind it can be clearly and fully seen. That's so crazy and so considerate. And how did that guy even know that was going to happen with that exact sign behind him. Just NOICE. That's truly next level...

Da******************:

1:04 ..I need to find a stunt double to go to work for me so I don't have to.

Ci*********:

5:30 That's a pretty intense photographer

Dp******:

whats that music they play in the background during her interview at 6:05 ? I hear it every now and then and it always catches my attention

So*********:

I don't know why this is even a problem in the first place. These people literally pour their blood, sweat, and tears into so many of the most memorable scenes in movies and tv. Not to mention broken bones and other injuries they go through just to make sure the movie/tv show gets what it needs. They go through so much and at the end of it all they don't even get too much acknowledgement for their role besides a mention in the end credits which, honestly, how many people really pay much attention to the end credits besides looking at who played the main and supporting roles. It's not fair that these people who actually do risk life and limb for the stunts they do for many scenes, don't get the credit they deserve. It's well past the time that they get awards for their work that they should have received awards for ages ago.

They may not be the people with lines in movies, but I'm sure there's more to doing stunts than speeding and drifting in cars and being flung around on wires. Action movies wouldn't be the same without them.

PR***:

Black swan entire ballet scenes went far beyond stunt work and she deserved a an Oscar more than Portman

Um*****************:

And then there is Jackie Chan a stuntman AND an actor

RB********:

There should be no argument about this...of course they should get awards...and not only that... they should also get some public recognition

Ka***********:

They are the reason I watch movies like this

IM**:

The Oscars don't deserve them.
We already know the Oscars are shit.
I respect stunt double actors with all my heart.

Ni*************:

They deserve an oscars catagory. Stunt people get ignored when they are the actual cool people

la******:
Stunt actors literally put their lives on the line when they do their work. Some have, in fact, died while filming.

They are easily some of the most fearless, and hardest working people in the business, and deserve more accolades and commendation than 99.9% of all others that DO get awards!

th********:

I think they should give the award to the entire stunt team. That to me would be the easiest award to fight for. And as they work the most like a team out of any section of a films production it would be fitting.

be***********:

They deserve an Oscar at the very minimum. Fight choreography/stunt doubles make an action movie. Imagine a marvel movie without the amazing stunt work! Like w o a h

Jo*********:
I mean who watches an action movie for the storyline, we watch to see the amazing fight scenes.

Mi***:

There honestly should be stunt categories smh, they really make movies and films so much more interesting

de**************:

I always thought about this! I hope stunt man get their rightful oscar!

Ra********:

Best
Action
Designers

Yet no Oscars...
Feels BAD Man

Ai********:
It would only add 5 mins of airtime why are they still adamant on not adding the category

It**********:
Imagine you did all that whooshy things risking your body to make that awesome movie and nobody even knows you.

Ad*****:

It really ought to be a category because Lord knows these people do everything they can to keep their performers alive while doing some of the most dangerous jobs imaginable.

Da********:

If the academy awards has categories such as Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Costume Design, then surely Best Stunt Coordinator would be acceptable.

Ma********:

Salute to these hardworking and dedicated people!

ge*:

There must be a stunt Oscar awards for real!!

Ju***********:
Fan: I LOVE YOUR MOVES OMG

Actor: Thank You So Much

Stunt Double: F*ck You I almost died

He************:
This reminds me of the stunt man for Harry Potter, something went wrong during an explosion scene and now he's paralyzed for life.

Fo**********:

When she said the stunt people were going to picket the academy I literally imagined them rappelling off the roof, jumping out of cars and bursting through windows with picket signs.

Sa*****:
they deserve a chance at least as much as the rest imho

Co**********:
They should!! They do the most dangerous job

Jo**************:
I think stunt people and comedy both need a category.

Mo********:

Tom cruise & Keanu reeves deserve much more credit for doing their own stubts!!

De*****:

I've been on movie sets and EVERYONE is important to make A MOVIE (not even a great one). Everyone deserves an award or at least recognition. Give the stunt people awards! What's taking so long?

Ir***********:

I’ve always agreed. Stunt doubles shouldn’t be hidden and ashamed of. They should be honored for their hard work

Gr********:

And that’s what I HATE about the film industry: The actors always get the attention and are the idols for many people. But all the others behind a film sometimes are only mentioned in the credits of their films.

na************:

because oscar is a popularity contest and not a talent contest
