Queen I'm busy listening to your whole album on here and any other streaming platform. This album is perfection!!!

People complaining about the length everything about this album is intentional the artists involved, the songs that reflect the movie’s themes etc. I think part of the reason why it’s so short is think about the context it’s just after Simba has fled the kingdom wracked with guilt thinking he had caused his father’s death. He runs for through the savanna for God knows how long he passes out which is how Timon and Pumba find him. He is literally in limbo between life and death. Beyoncé says in the making of the album the song is sort of like your life flashing before your eyes before you die. Ita not a huge long epic moment it’s quick, it’s intense it’s a arguably even a spiritual experience. It’s Simba’s experience as he’s in that place emotionally as well as physically. There’s only so much he can do. On a grander scale the theme of being deep in denial that they cleverly interchange with “the nile” is a temporary pit stop. Like the moment you hear bad news you can only be in denial for so long it will catch up with you. You can try to AVOID thinking about it through multiple means food, sex, alcohol or in Simba’s case adopting the hakuna Matata lifestyle. But you can’t deny reality. It’s actually pretty cleverly done.

Also Beyoncé and Kendrick work so well together because they both are incredibly deep thinkers. Watch either being interviewed they are not just musicians chasing money or fame they are artists that are trying to speak to the human experience through their work. It doesn’t surprise me that their track is the most introspective on the album.
