I have 2 things to say being argentine. First you have to take into account the great superiority of technology, equipment and tactics that the English had. The second is that the war was one of the most shameful and sad events for Argentina, since minors under 19 years of age were sent to fight a war without any meaning.

The argentinian army was in it's majority young unexperienced men, there is a movie called "iluminados por el fuego" that tells how rough it was for the argentinian soldiers

The first time I heard about this war was from my father, he was serving the Brazilian military at the time and told me that part of is job was to fill the supply plane (Hercules) to refueling in mid air the English aircrafts. The second was in college by my professor who is a colonel in the army. He told me that Brasil play both sides in the war and tell both that he didn't.

Fun Fact: The General Belgrano is the only ship to ever have been sunk by a nuclear submarine, and one of only a couple ships total to be sunk by a submarine post WW2

If someone is interested about how Argentinians live this event, you can see a movie here in youtube called ''Iluminados por el fuego''(2005) about 3 soldiers doing his best to survive and the repercutions of what happened when they came back from the islands.

Grew up on a farm in the Falkands and was a kid during the war, the commander of the platoon up on the mountain (our farm was considered a potential landing zone) would come down to the farm to listen to the British news on the wireless as he knew his superiors were lying to them, one day he turned around to dad and said "Well Mr Watson, I think we might be fucked". Half the conscripts thought they were heading for southern Argentina for training exercises and the other half thought they would be welcomed with open arms as a liberating army, they honestly didn't know what to think when they found out that they were the invaders terrorising a small farming community.
