JG*****:
they just placebo bottles that make you feel like you have done something good for the engine.

Bh********:
very very nice

De***:

I would like to see how well it cleanes fuel injectors

St**:
After 150k miles I added 3 bottles, 3 separate times with full gas tanks consecutively, instead of 1 and I have noticed an improvement in my mileage.

Bi****************:

Yeah, don't look much different to me either. My late husband would drink a bottle of Lucas every three months and it cleaned him out better than Seafoam. Seafoam just make him a lot more gassy....like he had a couple of burritos and a six pack of PBR!!!! Lots of skid marks in the tighty whities. Phew!!!

Ra*******:

lucas works really well for fuel injectors - my 300zx stopped misfiring after i ran a bottle of the fuel system cleaner through

Ta*********:

So it would make a great followup after a sea foam clean out.

Ca**********:

Could you possibly put up a video of you spraying water into the throttle body with a spray bottle. People claim it steam cleans the inside of the engine. I would have to agree because engines that have a bad head gasket are always very clean when they are torn down for a rebuild.

ti*********:

A redline a day keeps the carbon away! lol

Xe************:

Thanks for doing this.

An************:

If what you want is to decarbonize your comnustion chambers you need to try with tap water: with your engine at normal operation temp and running you at 2000rpm disconnect some good vacuum source like the hose that goes to your brake booster, put a funnel on it and use a hand sprayer filled with tap water. The idea is to spray a little of water at once so there is no chance to hydrolock the engine. Keep spraying until the hand sprayer is empty. The superheated steam will brutally clean any carbon in the chambers

hm***:

I'm waiting for this guy to do a test with RedLine SI-1.

Sa************:

I think the loose carbon was removed in previous tests and therefore this third test is not fair because The thicker crust was the only carbon left to be removed.

ac********:

I suspect on one with heavy deposits like this, if you did several tanks in a row that you would see much more cleaning. Maybe do the first two in a much more concentrated mix, like double the dose. I've been using the other Lucas fuel treatment. I hope I'm not wasting my money

lu**********:
+Chrisfix you are one of my favorite youtuber cause you answer your viewers even on a old video

Je***********:

could you do a fuel system cleaner test with BG product

Ja************:
When are you going to preform the Seafoam test on your truck? I'm really eager to see the results!

Pi******:
thanks Chris for all the time spent I'm these test. they're very helpful and appreciated.

ti******:

did it help with cleaning the injectors and acceleration???

ny********:

Expensive waste of money apparently.
I suppose if you used this stuff regularly from when the vehicle is new, it might have a cumulative maintenance value ... but overall, seems pretty useless on an engine that's gunked up.

Os***********:
So by now Chris should have a perfect clean system on his truck after so many demos? Otherwise none this product works if results are same as he present it on all the videos he has done,
Don’t you think???

Sa**:

WATER INJECTION CLEANING. After all is said and done on these cleaner additives, how about a final episode in the series where you do a before and after vid on the efficiency of spraying water into the air intake of your engine at about 2500-3000 rpm. I have heard that this technique actually works due to the steam produced in the cylinder cools and cracks the carbon and it is blown out the exhaust.

Ty********:
He didn’t have to flex that mpg on us “after 292 miles” dude I get 250 out of a 23 gallon tank

Je***********:

good job cris I would agree with you, didn't look like it helped much, which is kinda sad, I spend quite a bit of money on injector cleaner, but I think the upper cylinder lube that they make, helps some or at least supposed to, Idk I notice more of a pep in my car's step from using both of them, off and on so as far as their cleaning effects go, you did the test their be the results of it, might not buy that product again thanks for the test

Fa**********:
What happens if you add the cleaner directly into the cylinder? Lol.
Just curious

Ga******:

Chris, would you review BG 44k?

St**********:
Chris, great job I am learning a lot from your vedios. Steve

Ab*****:
You should try Shell V power, they say they clean on the first full tank fill up, would be interesting to see

Ba****************:
My Mercedes 300E with 220K miles on it which hasnt had service for 100K, was running rough at best. Put in 2 tanks of premium and 2 Lucas Deep Clean. Man, it runs like it was brand new. I swear this stuff is awesome!!!

To*******:

Thank you for making these videos, I bought a certified pre-owned BMW the other day and I'm just trying to stay on top of the maintenance. Thanks a lot!

Ph**********:
i've heard you have to use this for a while before you notice bigger changes

bo******:
Chris, you're my go-to guy for automotive information. By chance, do you field subscriber requests asking you to address specific issues?

so***********:
I'd love to see if this has any effect on injector performance. Could you remove an injector and do a spray pattern test before and after? I'm not sure if removing carbon from the pistons is really what these products are focusing on so the limited success isn't surprising to me.

GR*******:

I'm not sure a fuel system cleaner is going to remove carbon from the top of the pistons.  A better test of the product would be injector flow and/or fuel spray pattern before and after.

Ni************:

I really thought Lucas was going to do better. I used that deep clean one in my tank and got 70 miles more per tank to me that really says results. Btw this "car girl" LOVES your videos

Jo*********:

Chrisfix you are one of my favorite youtubers. Keep up the great videos!

Wa*********:
I've rebuilt enough engines to know that the carbon buildup on the top of the cylinders is some of the hardest stuff to clean off. I'm guessing heat and compression is what does it. Even taking a wire wheel to the stuff, takes a bit of effort to get it off. Soaking it in various cleaners like this has done nothing in my experience to soften it, so it does not surprise me at all that it still remains on the top of the cylinder with these cleaners. I do like to use their regular injector cleaner + marvel for my vehicles, but that is more for lubrication and cleaning of the injectors and fuel pump.  I have put marvel down the plug hole before, smoked like a bitch for 30 minutes, but the spark plug came out perfectly clean.  I don't have a scope to check the top of the piston though after such cleaning.  Something on my list of things to invest in.

Ga****:
Hey Chris, I think it would be useful to have something to compare the results to.

Everytime I see a before/after shot with marginal results I have to wonder, "Okay. Something kinda changed. But what would it look like before and after a tank of gas that DIDN'T have any additives in it. Would the cylinders all look exactly the same? Maybe little bits of carbon are growing or breaking off all the time. Maybe variation in results is more about variation in test vehicle"

Perhaps if you did a before/after of a tank of normal gas we'd see marginal visual changes still. Or maybe do a baseline, then a repeat baseline, and then your desired test. Maybe you could show cylinders after every tank of gas for like ten straight tanks, turn that into a video of its own to show a carbon buildup progression.

jm**********:
@chrisfix id like to see 2 things. 1st one of these products actually used over a period of time. like the lucas used for 2 or 3 oil changes. 2nd and more importantly i wanna see a before and after of the BG Fuel and Air Induction Service. most people thinmk they can do this themselves but really have no clue. I worked at a dealership for a long time and i used to recommend that all the time. i wanna see you do before and afters on the throttle body, plenum, and pistons and then go to a dealership and have them perform the FIS and see how it works... thoughts?
