Gives a talk on Coronavirus

Someone in the audience coughs

No*********:

The "no mask" advice was the recommended directive at the time this was recorded. By April, professionals were explaining that face masks were critical in slowing the spread of the virus. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater; the presenter does an excellent job of explaining what coronavirus is. I am writing this on July 16, when the number of COVID cases surpassed 75,000 in a single day and there have been 137,000 deaths to date. Still skeptical? Walk into your local hospital.

Sa**********:

Me at first glance: ‘oh Claire from the bon appetite test kitchen has a Ted talk..... oh

Ru********:

Wow Claire from the Bon Apetit Test Kitchen is so versatile.

Ad**************:

I can’t imagine the reaction of the people sitting around the person who coughed at 2:23

DD*****:
Wow, watching this in early Jan. '21, cause I was retrospectively curious if her predictions were going to be on the money... But boy, this talk didn't age very well. Such confidence, that a country like the USA can easily handle things! No need for masks, just wash your hands! No mention of politics or leadership, at all. She got the title right, at least. I wonder what she thinks now?

Hello to the people in the future watching this half decade old TED talk because it showed up in their recommended videos

ou****:

"Try not to attend events with more than 100 people", she says to a room of 500 people.

Tr******:

"Don't wear face masks, because face masks are for health care providers". But the point is we don't know who is sick because the symptoms are mild. I think we all should wear masks which is better

Li**:

Does she still believe in her face mask advice? Seems a bit outdated...

Al**********:

This was published March 11th, 2020 that was 2 months ago. Information on covid 19 was not as elaborate as it is now.

Th***************:

I’ll tell you a coronavirus joke now, but you’ll have to wait two weeks to see if you got it. ٩(˘◡˘)۶

Ji**:

"Don't wear a face mask if you are healthy." My how have times changed.

He*************:
Try not to attend events with more than 100 people

Audience member coughs in room with 500+ people

Ch************:

GHO: Try to refrain attending large events with 100+ persons.
TEDx: Huh what?

Before the coronavirus, i used to cough to hide a fart, now i fart to hide a cough.

Jo*********:
I would like to know if her view on wearing a mask has changed..

Li*************:
this didn't age well lmaooooooo

Fl**********:

Overpopulation, directly or indirectly, contributes to global death. This planet has too many people, regardless of the unpopulated masses of land.

RJ**********:
This ain't aging well. Let's have a look again this time next year.

Mi************:
She forgot to mention CHY-NAH lied, and that Epstein didn't kill himself!

IA******:

It is our future! We been neglected our health for decades and now it's a wake up call. The only barriers that work against virus how strong your immune and cardiopulmonary system. Paper mask is a joke, it doesn't work! I've been in to Japan and Vietnam back in mid Feb and suffer no symptoms, strolling around without mask. Even some of my friends tested positive, they only suffered mild fever. The only thing that work is exercise and eat healthy food. Look at the athletes, how many of them end up in the ventilator?

We**********:
Earlier, on the 19th, I posted some suggestions on using UV light. Glad to see it’s catching on. Fighting this Coronavirus is more than just UV, more than a vaccine…since many aspects come into consideration. Therefore, a broad spectrum approach must be used: Heat and steam kill the virus. Hyperbaric oxygen. Lemon, garlic, and turmeric also. I’m thinking that lemon juice inside the lungs cannot be injurious, since we take some deep swigs of lemonade, then inhale. Meaning, some of that lemonade will reach the longs. I’ve also suggested intubation with a fiber optic cable, last 5 inches machined to reflect light in all directions, the light source being far UV. How about saunas and steam rooms? Interesting possibilities for boosting immune system include exercise and even living in love instead of in fear. Yes, all the other accepted approaches are included, such as testing, frequent hand washing, face masks, social distancing, Fresh air and sunlight. Deep breathing. Vitamin D3, mega doses of Vitamin C, hydroxychloroquine with the z-pac, quarantines, etc. Medical facilities with unfiltered recirculated are are a NO-NO! What we are talking about in the above is cure and prevention. Can someone with connections relay this post to President Trump? Thanks!

Ho**********:

Scientific research in Japan found it's mostly the CV MICRODROPLETS IN THE AIR that transmit the disease. SHE IS TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT NOT WEARING MASKS! Those who are carriers and don't know it, by wearing a mask they are protecting the rest of us. And we protect ourselves from breathing in a good % of the microdroplets by wearing a mask. TAIWAN has done so well b/c from the beginning they ALL wore masks! And yes, DO WASH YOUR HANDS! ALL HER OTHER ADVICES are very good. KEEP YOUR 6 FT DISTANCE TOO. --- An experienced RN (Registered Nurse).
