mi*****:
If you think about it, it can't clean carbon off of tops of pistons as when fuel hits that area it's already ignited. Id like to see Techron run through a set of dirty injectors.

Su******:

Thanks for taking the time to test so many products and show actual results with real friendly commentary. Also, thanks for showing that we are not wasting our time by helping others, in what ever way it might be.

to*****:
Looking at those "caramelized" carbon really makes me want to scrape them with a spatula

Le*****:

Thanks for all your efforts Chris, much appreciated!

au********:

Have you tried the gumout that's sold in a seafoam bottle?

Ch****************:
I've run 5 tanks worth of techron in my caddy, and can say it has improved gas mileage and got the scale off the pump and gauge sending unit works better and the pump is responding quicker in pressure rise.

30*******:

and that explains why some people only fill up at Chevron gas stations; where every tank already has Techron in it. I always thought it was about removing moisture from the gas tank. I didn't know it cleaned too.

Ba*******:

I have always been skeptical of additives.  That was a really good test.  Thank you for sharing.

On****:

You don't actually want to clean 200,000 miles of carbon deposits in 1 go. If the cleaner was aggressive enough to remove that much gunk that fast, that gunk would scratch up your engine cylinders pretty bad. You should use 1 bottle every oil change to clean-up the 3-7 K miles worth of deposits, not 200,000 miles worth of deposits.

Je*******:

I,ll betcha that the picture on the back of that bottle, was from a new engine that only had 400 miles on it. before....... and after.

ji******:

For the winter I have a 96 Grand Cherokee with the 5.2 with now 145,000 and I do use 2 bottles maybe 3 or 4 times a year, it does seem to clean the injectors as it runs smoother. I bought it used many years ago and sometimes it ran a bit rough so after a few tanks 2 bottles the injectors were cleaner as it ran smoother, that's MY personal experience.I try to buy that stuff when on sale, also use premium fuel only

Ma************:
It works. I used 1 bottle on my 95 VW Beetle. It was vibrating alot in idle and 2nd, 3rd gear would be noisy. After a full tank used up, it turned into a Audi R8 and runs now better than ever! Go Techron!

ti*****:
How dare you shine that light in my face in 2020! Great vid man! Cheers

JL*****:
I'd be curious to see how it affects the fuel injectors before and after.

xC*******:
Chris, you have one nice community of commenters on your channel. No trolls, ahh so relaxing XD. Anyway, nice video bro. Quick question: When you commentate, do you do a voice over after recording, or are you talking live? Just asking because you sound so clear, and you make no mistakes with speech.

Jo*******:

do carbon deposits have a meaningful impact on the engine, or are they just something on which we chose to fixate?

To********:

Techron and Marvel Mystery Oil. GREAT STUFF!

IK***:

Nice test but I think this stuff is more for cleaning the injectors out instead of the built up carbon with the combustion chamber and on the intake valves (on DI motors). I tried this stuff some years ago by soaking clogged fuel injectors that were removed from the engine for 12 hours in a small bowl of this stuff. The injectors were really clean after the 12 hour soak and worked beautifully when put back on the car.

jo********:
Chris I got to hand it to you. I know these test you do take a lot of effort to show us real world results. Great video thanks.

Sk*****:
Hey Chris, what's the best fuel injector cleaner out of all you tested?

Sp************:

Wawa! Must not be in NJ though, we don't pump our gas.

Ch****************:

I've watched all your videos on fuel system cleaning. I would love to see your on Marvel Mystery Oil. This is an older school favorite and I would like to see how if would come out. IT is up and down like many but I challenge you to accept this to be featured.

Ja***********:
Yeah it breaks the carbon off and gets stuck in the catalytic converter. I used some system cleaner and now I'm living with a P420 code.

Ta********:

Can you test redline SL1 and BG109? Thanks!

CO*********:
I know this probably doesn't really help that much but I got my car 2 years ago and have always filled up with chevron gas with techron so I hope it helps even if it is a little bit.

B4****:

Hey Chrisfix! Have you done a Marvel Mystery Oil video? if so, I can't find it on YouTube. thanks man, keep up the great videos!

Fr*********:
I have used Techron x 3 times. Each time I had it added one to two tanks before my regular 10k servicing so as to also flush out the carbon during oil changed. It actually worked. From 600km per tank I was able to keep seeing improvement to my fuel consumption every single servicing until I hit a maximum of 725km. And the car feels great when accelerating. Maybe u should test it this way.

ju*********:

Always wondered cause i work at Chevron gas stations and the company always say it has greatest ingredients

Cr********:
Would like BG44k to be put to the test. I can only buy it online. So it might be better who knows?!

De***********:

The real benefit is to the injectors i.e. fuel system. The build up on the top of the piston is largely irrelevant.

Gi***********:
Hey ! Cris, Thank you again !

Xh***:
Chevron gas already has this in it. Use Chevron gas with this product.

Di*************:

Do they have something like this for the human body because wow chick fil a is good

cS***:
Maybe start the Techron at about 20000 miles. I just added a bottle in my 2019 Subaru. 8000 m and my mpg increased by 5+

Bo****:

Dont need to see the results. Just need to feel it. This thing fixed my random misfires and made my engine run smooth and quiet. I can barely hear the engine idle.
Update: its been about a month since using this additive and no more misfire cylinders or engine jerks on my 2004 4runner.

Du*******:

Nice. Still has cross hatch on walls

An**********:
Hi Chris, so what cleaner do you recommend for cylinder heads?
Thanks Andrew

Sh****:
If you want to clean the carbon buildup off the pistons , do it with distilled water through a vacuum port.
Works great on a carbureted engine, and Fuel Injection if theres a vacuum port on the the intake manifold somewhere.
If not you can actually spray a fine mist of water into the throttle body with short burst.
Get the engine up to operating temperature, set the RPM to about 2500 and let the water do its stuff. It actually steam cleans the carbon away.
I use a very small orifice about the size of a very small sewing needle .
The smaller the orifice the better it works, with a clear piece of hose attached directly to a vacuum port on the carburetor
I usually run a quart of distilled water through twice a year...
Check it out with a borescope before and after, you'll see a big difference...

Sa*************:

As with your Gumout test, again your evaluation was done showing all the steps taken and even shows the inside of the motor's cylinders for viewers to see for themselves. Nice job & thank you for taking your time to produce & post such informative videos. They're especially helpful to someone such as myself that has always been interested as to IF these products really clean or make a difference in the engine yet not having the equipment or know how to find out for myself continued to wonder until seeing your videos. Great work & can't wait to view more of your informative videos so that I can see the proof with my own eyes!!
