(Recommended)Popular Videos : [Veritasium] Can You Go the Speed of Light?

This time, I will review the popular YouTube videos.
These days, even if it's good to watch on YouTube, sometimes people skip it or don't watch it if it's too long.
When you watch Youtube, do you scroll and read the comments first?
To save your busy time, why don't you check out the fun contents, summary, and empathy comments of popular YouTube videos first and watch YouTube?

Playtime Comments : [Veritasium] Can You Go the Speed of Light?

Ga********:
What would it be like to travel at the speed of light?
0:21
I imagine everything would get intense... yeah, nice one dude.

Ad************:

0:23 She's more spot on than she thinks. You'd literally see nothing because you would reach your destination literally instantly.
Edit: She thinks thought is faster than light. My god.

Ch**:
3:40 basically how we'd be perceived if we were to be drawn to the center of a black hole

Lo*********:

1:40 that CityRail joke though

pi********:

3:44 flash's infinite mass punch!!!

DV**********:

Mu*********:

0:46 ".... in a plane..." haaa haaaa ha haa

Wh*****:

Qa********:

@Veritasium  at 3:37, would that not create something like a black hole or a singularity? Mirroring something like the big bang, or is that completely wrong, keep in mind I am doing GCSEs (UK Exams of high school if you dont know) and I should be revising...

De*********:
1:30 "Thought is faster than light, because its imediate. Its there." Well, in this lady's brain I am not sure if it's "there".

A limerick: There once was a girl named Bright, whose speed was much faster than light. She left one day in a relative way and returned on a previous night.

Dy****:
Why do you never run into intellectuals haha

Me**********:
Man, y do u look for people who are this scientifically illiterate? It just hurts hearing their responses

li******:
Is it just me, or if you look at his eyes, doesn't he looked stoned, or really sick ;~;

Da*********:
If you kick light in the shins and push it down the stairs, how fast will if fall?

al*******:
"Our length would become zero, our time would stop passing, and our mass would become infinite."

Our mass is already infinite here in America.

Pa********:
he always seems stoned

Ho***********:

do people in australia not go to school?????

n0*********:

well lets rephrase the question in a way that at least allows us to try and grasp the idea... if we traveled at the speed of sound along side a soundwave, would we hear the sound?

No********:

'light is ten times faster than sound'
cringe

Iv******:

Well, Fash can run several times faster then Speed of light, why dont you ask him?

Ju*********:
If you can't see yourself in the mirror, then you're a vampire. There's no other explanation.

Th*****************:
If you would be able to travel faster than light, then the light would be able to travel faster than light too.

Ad******:
''thought is faster than light''
I commend you for not calling her an idiot

Ja**:
"this is city rail, we are lucky to be moving at all" ahhh Sydney jokes

Th***********:
If we ever want to explore the universe we certainly have to break the speed of light.

Ni***********:
in the mirror, every physical action that you would make would be visually delayed

Dr****************:

I am waiting for the 21st century's Einstein.

un*********:

When cars were invented, we thought the speed limit was 35mph. We know it isnt now.

Fo*******:
The real question is: Can you travel slower than Cityrail?

Os*******:

Traveling at the speed of light:
Size=0
Mass=infinity
Well, Einstein really knows how to mess with your brain

Ul*********:
When it comes to space travel, there is no need to go the speed of light. In the far future, we'll fold space to traverse long distances.

co*****:
Since the universe expanded in a fraction of a second from the point of origin to many light years across, yes it is possible to travel faster than light.
However, it is not possible to travel faster than light relative to the space around you.
You cannot travel faster than light "through" space but you can travel faster than light "with" space.

He****:
Throughout human history there's been many who thought there was a speed limit and it's been broken time and time again, a long time ago people where afraid of going on trains that would only do 30mph

Apparently it was believed the the speed would suffocate a person) but it was broken and so will the speed of light, it will take a long time but if humanity prevails over the next Millennium I think it can happen.

Xa****:

This was a very good video, Great job. BUT STOP WEARING SANDALS ITS DISTRACTING.

Ra***********:

thought is,faster than light. I am dying :)

Au***********:

thought is immediate plz..... plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Iv********:

Yes, neutrinos can go faster than light but ONLY when light is travelling through a medium OTHER than a perfect vaccuum (gas, atmosphere, glass, water, etc.) At which times light cannot reach its maximum velocity (plus its characteristic changes from wavelike to photon particles) and neutrinos or "ghost particles" which are small enough to avoid collision with almost all mass and easily travels through entire solid planets of rock without touching anything, travels unaltered through any substance whereas light is altered by the medium in which it travels, slowing it down or stopping it completely.

ja**:

Hey I like your videos they are very interesting
I too have a question for you.
We all say that we can't reach the speed of light (may be/ may be not)
Talking about absolute speed (i.e. 1 frame is moving at speed of light and other is static) may be we can't reach that speed.
But what about relative speed ( 1 frame moving with speed less than 'C' or say half the speed of 'C' and the other just moving with same speed but in opposite direction )
In this case we will reach or cross the speed barrier,
Plz let me know what u think about this

Ol*********:

Hi Veritasium,

I'm a long time fan of your channel and really like your content.

What would happen if you threw a piece of (very long and strong) rope into a black hole? If I stood outside the black hole, how fast would I observe the rope to go? Surely if nothing can exit the event horizon once it has entered, the force exerted on the rope is near infinite, leading to an infinite acceleration? In regard to what you said about the fundamental particles travelling at the speed of light (so it wouldn't be possible for mass such as the rope to go this fast), what would i see if I observed the rope while outside the black hole? Would it just snap? Is the issue with this, the assumption that a rope that is strong enough to withstand this force is even possible? What would be the limiting factor, at what point would the rope snap?

Also, couldn't you connect one end of the rope to a generator (assuming long long rope) and drop the other end into the black hole (spinning the generator). How much power could you potentially generate, what would be the limit? If the force required to pull the rope out of the event horizon is infinite, surely the energy requirement is infinite? I don't believe you can it would create energy but, logically what I say follows that you could potentially pull infinite energy out of the system for a given length of rope? There are probably some logic errors with this train of thought, so please explain them!

Thanks,
Ollie
