This time, I will review the popular YouTube videos.
These days, even if it's good to watch on YouTube, sometimes people skip it or don't watch it if it's too long.
When you watch Youtube, do you scroll and read the comments first?
To save your busy time, why don't you check out the fun contents, summary, and empathy comments of popular YouTube videos first and watch YouTube?

Playtime Comments : [Veritasium] Ice Cutting Experiment

NN******:
0:47 scared the crap out of me

Ad**********:

1:43 ASMRtasium

Be************:

I was In a trance with that music and the pretty ice. I actually got startled at 0:47

Li*************:

2:33 and I am like, what the hell just happened? Where did his sleep go?
2:38
and it's fine now.

Mi*********:

2:43 i have never touched or seen snow in my life ;-;

Ge*******:
0:22 HAHA

Th**********:

0:08 "Housemate"
Is that what the kids call it these days?

Ch***********:

0:23 creepy af, get this man on some kind of reguster

Mr******:

1:43 someone's on weed

Pa**********:
definitely passed tf out while waiting for the ice and just woke up at 1:41

Sc********:
When you stripped off the insulation, you decreased the thickness of the copper wire- thus less area was in contact with the ice and since you have the same weight that lead to higher pressure on the ice and faster melting.

Re*******:
What if the copper wire that isn't in the ice is acting as a heatsink?

an*****:

this video rises questions.
how cutting speed depends on thickness of thread?
why copper cutting was not symmetrical?
why fishing line stuck? why it did not stuck earlier?
why are you whispering?

Jo*:
he is insanely cute lol

an***:

"But wait! Regelation isn't useless, you can make snowballs with it!"

Ty******:
Seriously people? Can we not comment anything more intelligent than "you look stoned"?

Da*********:
why were you talking like someone was trying to sleep?

tu******:
Derek go to sleep.

Sa*******:
Wondered why he was speaking like David Attenborough about half way through whispering to his ice block in order to not wake it, high as a goat.

Ke***********:

A good housemate doesn't talk loudly while recording videos at one in the morning.

Da*************:
You look high in the video.

Ca********:

What if you hold the background temperature below 0 Celsius, while performing this experiment?

In that case:
A: would regelation happen for both the copper wire and nylon string systems?
B: would the copper wire still beat the nylon string?

Ga******:

The copper wire before: *average walking speed*
The copper wire after: speed

xi****:

where do you get such a imprint on your forehead? I'm curious what he did in the waiting time

Gr*******************:

yay i got it rigth ^-^

ga********:

After I learned about this as a kid, I loved slowly pushing my straw through ice cubes in the drinks at restaurants until I had carved a hole through the ice.

Du***************:
The fishing line was a lot more stretchy than the copper wire which could affect results

pc****:
Was the entire room like < 0°, or did I just not notice it melting?

Tr********:

with the snowball i had always thought it was just because my bare hands melted the snow then it refroze when it got to the cold outside air

Ci***:

Have seen this in Detective Conan/Case Closed manga !!!
Its mind blowing , WOW!!!

ch*********:

Great vid. Thanks!
Did removing the insulation on the copper wire make it thinner though?

Ma*******:

Wouldn't the heat also simply come from the other part of the copper wire being in open air? So that the heat of the air can travel via the wire to the inside of the ice?

Jr********:

Seems like every stoner here knows this guy is super high

Fa***********:
Yay, i predicted right. And for the right reason.

St****:
I'm pretty sure the Cooper wire won, like you said, by thermometret conductivity. But i think it was because the temperature was warmer than the freezing point of ice, and the copper wire actet like a radiator, transfering the cooler air to the warmer temperature of the room. Try doing the experiment again, but in a room with a temperature colder than 0 celcius. Then the fishingline would be faster, and the copper wire shouldn't move or move very slowly

Ad*******:

Your face makes me want to take a deep sleep

Th**********:

YES! i knew it! conductivity!

So**********:

Judging by your eyes, you clearly need sleep.

Me**********:

And here I thought it was because I was removing all the excess air in the snow, impressive.

Da************:
Ice caps are under pressure. How does that work I think it has something to do with the temp of the ice before pressure applied not that applying preacher changes the temperature. Also I'm curious to know more about this effect. I have a Metal thermos with a small opening at the top to drink out of if I put an ice cube on the top it will cut itself and a half in a matter of seconds but if I push down on the ice cube melts much slower. do to the thermal conductivity like you said but that's explained that I would really appreciate getting to see some more examples of this affect and why it melts faster under its own weight.
