This time, I will review the popular YouTube videos.

These days, even if it's good to watch on YouTube, sometimes people skip it or don't watch it if it's too long.

When you watch Youtube, do you scroll and read the comments first?
To save your busy time, why don't you check out the fun contents, summary, and empathy comments of popular YouTube videos first and watch YouTube?

Playtime Comments : [Veritasium] Spinning Tube Trick Explained

Normal reaction but still funny xD

Pu*****:
If you flip your field of view from top to bottom, this also changes rotation of the tube from clockwise to counter-clockwise or the other way around. This then means that the O will be moving backwards with respect to the motion of the tube in it's horizontal rotation as he explains at 0:29

Bo*****:

I totally worked this out, pitty I am about 2 years, 15 days late! :S

Sh************:
What's the name of the piece that plays at the end over the slow-mo bit?

Ve***************:
So why under the table see o and not x when we spin the tube putting our finger to the x position? The velocity of the tube is the same and independed from the position we are looking the tube.

ma***********:
so beautiful spinning in the wind, like my hearts about to burst like a balloon... *eyes swell with tears*

Um*****:
So if the tube keeps spinning, he's in a dream, right?

Ba**:
So... why do we see the other sign from below then? The signs don't magically start spinning the other way compared to the tube. Or did I miss a video?

Ca*******:
Aaaand at the end of this video, a heart-breaking scene of a spinning orange plastic tube. With smooth jazz that actually made my eyes teary.

Be******************:
Anybody know the music used at the end of this? I checked the description and it wasn't there D:

En*********:

if the 0 on the tube is spinning much faster than X and we can't see it when we are watching it from up because of its velocity of spinning, why do we see 0 when we're watching it thru glass table from below, ergo why don't we see X again

Br**************:
I still admit I don't get why it shows the opposite when viewed from underneath. The tube doesn't change its spin nor direction just because you change your point of view. Speaking about clockwise and counter-clockwise doesn't change the direction of which x or o are spinning. So x would still be moving slower seen from underneath, but yet we see the faster moving o, I don't understand this. I mean I might just be an idiot.

Wi*********:

I honestly think that the velocity explanation is wrong, as if does not account for why the symbol is reversed viewing from the bottom. I think that it has to do with how our eyes can only process limited frames.

the "pressed" end (let's say X) lifts upon release. the entire time that the tube spins, X remains vertically higher than O. the upper half of the tube creates a constant blur of orange and X, blocking any blurred image from the lower half. although the X is never actually in front of the O, the blurred image blocks out the lower half of the tube.

this would easily account for the issues with why the symbols are reversed looking at it from below, and it actually is a bit irritating to me that no one seems to notice such a simple solution. am i wrong??

ma*******:
I'm afraid we need... The Slow-mo guys. dum dum duuuuuuuum

Ze*****:
what was the song playing at the end?

to********:
The high speed camera at the beginning made me realize the trick before he explained it. If I only had a high speed camera at home lol

Mo***********:
Hold on!
My poor brain is saying if the two ends of a rigid tube are spinning in opposite directions around the long axis, wouldn't that produce a twist?
Surely both ends have the same rotational direction and every 180 degrees are alternatively spinning with and then against the the rotational direction through the centre.
Help?!

Wi***********:
I'm 4 years late to the party but this doesn't seem that difficult to figure out. One end is moving faster than the other.

Th***********:
Procrastination has never been so educational

Ne***:
What I didn't get, however, is how we can see the other mark if we look through the bottom of a glass table. I mean, the direction of spin and rotation doesn't change, right?

Ka*********:
The real question is,  what is lifting the tube up on one end?

Al***********:
how come doing it on the glass table you see O then? shouldn't we see X from both top and bottom?

Pi*******:
Few years ago, I miss YouTube's video response. Now, whenever I want a response video, I go to TikTok

5x**:
Same principle as "retreating blade stall" with a helicopter in forward flight.

Ya**********:
Question: Can you do a video on why the tube stands up when it spins? Thanks.

Jo**********:

I like the piano tune at the ending ... Who is playing ?

Ra***********:

But why do we see the opposite when looking from under the glass?

To*******************:
My bird was singing along to the music at the end lol.

aj**********:
OK, I am NOT a physicist, I'm a poet and a musician, but I'm also a science aficionado, and that brings me to this question. Does the principle of the spinning tube also explain why, on the planet Mercury, at certain points during its day, the sun would appear to stop its motion across the sky, move backwards below the horizon and then rise again? It seems similar to me. Please don't laugh at me if I'm totally off base here!

eB******:
That music in the end... almost fell in love with that tube lol you got a new subscriber

An******:
I USED TO SPIN MY GLUE STICK LIKE THAT WHEN I WAS AT SCHOOL! Lol

Ge*************:
"Until then, keep spinning those tubes." Well said.

Mi***********:

NOW I understand why its called you"tube"

PM*:
yes, as always, let's all keep spinning tubes

Gr********:
To all those looking for the MUSIC at the end of this video, it's part of a track called The Yearbook from The Amazing Adventures Of Pleaseeasaur. It's on Spotify, Amazon etc.

Je**********:
I'm more curious about why the one end stays in the air

Je***********:
he didn't explain why it was opposite, when looking from underneath.

Sh*****:

If this is the reason, why can we see the O on a glass table then?
