We fast 23 hours a day and love this way of eating. Save on the food bill and I’ve lost 31 lbs so far.

Lo******:

I did 18:6 for 3 months... lost a ton of weight and felt so much better!

Be************:

Just wowed.!!! Thank you Doctor Mattson. I'm 60 years old and I have abs, lol. I've been fasting, and during that time, I swim, cycle, spend an hour or two in the gym and it's all paying off. A true lifestyle change, you're preaching the gospel. I went in for my annual physical and my Doctor didn't recognize me in the lobby. All of my numbers, blood pressure, cholesterol, A!C etc. are great. Sharing, and subscribed.

SD*********************:

I've been fasting my whole life. Yes you lose weight.

Wi*********:

This guy is awesome. I've been using intermittent fasting and it really works.

Ho************:
I'm older now, but, I still fast. Not strictly, maybe a small smoothie, instead of nothing. Sometimes nothing.
I haven't been to a doctor in 24+ years and I'm Canadian, I can go to a doctor, 24/7 for free.
I know this will sound off...but, the morning after a day of fasting, I FEEL VERY STEADY. I feel alert. Better than usual & I eat carefully.
I don't eat bread because I never liked it, even as a child, & my rare blood type forbids alcohol.
I was a professional athlete, but, that has nothing to do with anything, as people point at my riding. No!
It is because I eat just the correct small amount.

De******:
Thanks. Great information from someone who fasts for two days a month and only eats one meal a day. Life changing stuff!

HF****:

Why some people didn't like this? Love your sugar corn flakes???

Ma*****:
SUMMARY: hungry animals due to fasting or exercise get smarter to look for food. Physical and psychological challenges stimulates the production of "neurotrophic factors" (which helps with the production of new neurons, etc.)

Mi********************:
Excellent talk. I strongly favor our public tax dollars going to support the salary and work of researchers like Dr Mattson. I'd like to increase the NIH budget instead of always increasing the military budget.

Bo*********:

I've been intermittent fasting for 19 weeks and I'm down 25 lbs. I don't even work out. I started at 302 lbs and I'm so happy I found Dr Jason Fung and started doing this.

La******:

Fascinating to see how IF was being talked about six years ago.

An***********:

I can talk on and on about fasting. If u enjoy having a flat stomach. Then that should cause u to try it out. When u eat too much, too frequent, and in this western world we live in. 600,000 food products that has 80 percent tons of sugar with it will cause u to have that undesirable big belly. Most food has sugar in Usa, we are a sugar based society. When u eat junk food with sugar, u will see immediately u gain 1 lb or more, and it will stay like that tommorrow. Sugar strips yur pottasium and next your soduim goes up relatively and when u have too much soduim u retain water. This bloats your tummy. The fastest way to stop this is fasting. U will like they way u look and feel. U will be happy carrying less weight, u see your tummy flat. U feel good this is a good cycle to be in. GOD bless this man.

Mo*******:

We shall overcomb!!!

Si***********:
So glad to see this. I know about it, but love to hear the juicy details. Thank you so, so much. Once more, thumbs down for the pharmaceutical industry.

Intermittent fasting is the best thing I've been doing in a while.

I have less fat, same amount of muscle, more stable blood sugar and am way happier and energetic. Everybody should at least try it for several months.

I confess that my hand had started to shake in the past. I tried to deny it. I used to fast a lot, somehow I stopped. I started to fast this year, plus getting rid of sugar and the shaking is gone.Aleluyah

Ma**********:
Outstanding! I have been doing intermittent fasting for nearly three weeks and I am burning fat like never before, my former colitis and bloating have almost dissapeared, joint pain has reduced and I do have increased mental clarity in the mornings. I strongly recommend it. I loved the attack against the food and pharmaceutical industries!

ch*******:
I've used fasting to rid myself of 70 pounds and three "incurable" autoimmune diseases. I hope fasting is one day embraced as a mainstream solution for autoimmune diseases rather than the palliative drugs pushed by the medical establishment.

Sa*********:

I fasted for 5 days drinking only warm water 10 years ago and felt that my brain started working much more clearly. I became also very sensitive, my intuition got incredibly strong.

Ed**********:
We barely have food when I was young but I'm much healthier compared to my friends.

Intermittent fasting + meditation + yoga = godmode

Na***********:
When I walk into the shopping malls I get overwhelmed by how much of food is being produced everyday. The world has been consumed by consumerism, people think the more the better. Clearly, we don’t need that much of food, fizzy drinks, chocolate, snacks, prepackaged microwave food, processed food all to satisfy your one silly tongue. The less you eat, the healthier you become. By eating less you are allowing your body and brain to function naturally. Coffee, tea, sugar, chocolate, we don’t need them at all, sugar is found naturally in fruit. Plus your brain has more ability and clarity when you eat less. For the same reason, yogis and monks eat very less. What is also important is, when you eat, eat something good, made at home, don’t buy a lot of takeout. I believe in energy transfer and it really affects who and how the food has been made. Food is our prana, why mess with your life?

Mo****************:

Hi. I'm a Buddhist priest. Thank you for this video. I can personally say that intermittent fasting has always been part of our human nature. Have you ever noticed that when you got the flu, you barely want to eat? That's your body screaming you to leave it alone so it can heal! So why is it that you force yourself into having a bowl of chili or soup?

Fasting heals you. Make you feel great and the mind is sharp and clear. Most of the Buddhist monastic community worldwide have only 2 small meals a day and this has been going on for thousands of years.

So try skipping breakfast. That's all you need to lose weight, lower your carbon imprint and feel great.

dy**********:
Great video. Thank you sir :). I’ve done the 16/8 fasting and lost 40 pounds in like 4 months, but that didn’t work great for me because I could still not control my hunger, I just couldn’t wait to finish my diet so I can eat bread, cake again. I’m just hungry all the time. A year later I’ve decided to increase my fasting period. For 1.5 months now, I’ve been fasting 36 hours 3 days a week (I don’t eat Monday, Wednesday and Friday). And I feel amazing. My hunger is way way way way down, I can actually manager those urges to eat all the time, I have much more energy, and I feel like my thinking is clear . The hunger still comes in waves, but if I can keep busy for 20-30 min, it just goes away(and is very mild), and I still cook everyday for my husband and son. The only problem now, is that I’m bored, because all that time I used to think about food, now suddenly I have to fill it up with something else... and I lost another 15 pounds... but my greatest achievement of all, is NOT BEING HUNGRY ALL THE TIME
