This time, I will review the popular YouTube videos.

Ba**************:
This was fairly embarrassing... This same exact demo could have been performed at Epcot in the early 80's. There are vastly more interesting things being done with robotics and AI these days.
It's literally a scritped prop.
It seems like something you'd see at a kids party.
Pe***:
Using a 100% pre-programmed robot with zero intelligence to talk about how smart they are and have become... wat
Mi***********:
The title is extremely misleading. I hope people realize this robot is nothing like what it seems to present. State of the art robots interact with their environment in real time. This robot did none of that. It was simply preprogrammed like the robots from decades ago. "Best"? Hardly. Even the experimental robotic arm that plays ping pong is many orders of magnitude more sophisticated.
fi*****:
This was disappointing. The whole thing was too practiced and scripted. No part of this required that the 'robot' was reacting to any input from Marco. It seemed like the whole thing was just a well practiced routine rather than a demonstration of anything new. Everything seen is possible with 1980s technology and a willingness to practice it a few times.
ma******:
Preprogrammed? Not impressed, could have done this like 20 years ago.
Ch******:
Crap! TED is usually better then this both informative and cutting-edge. I saw a comedian back in the 80's do an entire talking robot act with a Simon Says toy. TED you may want to book him.
th*************:
smug is right, titling a video "Maybe the best robot demo ever" when it isnt even a robot demo. It is just a choregraphed performance, a program the runs and has been practiced so the human does exactly his part at the right time, then the robot does what he was programmed to do. Absolutely ZERO interaction with this robot. No AI at all. Pretty lame actually, and more a fraud and con then robotics
as******:
as a predestination for kids it would be cool to see but other then that I don't know what this predestination's
point is.
pe******************:
Everybody's like "pfft. so choreographed", but I am like read the descriptions:
Marco Tempest uses charming stagecraft to demo EDI, the multi-purpose robot designed to work very closely with humans. Less a magic trick than an intricately choreographed performance, Tempest shows off the robot's sensing technology, safety features and strength, and makes the case for a closer human-robot relationship. (Okay, there's a little magic, too.)

“TED: Ideas worth spreading!”, I don’t quite see what worth spreading here!

Br************:
“The illusion of trust”
ha*****:
Seriously? The arms look completely unnatural like an industrial robot and it couldn't even move around on the stage freely. Also there was no way to tell what was actually an ai reaction and what was simply programmed scripted actions or remote controlled. Not impressive at all
Trying to make humans relate to robots before they posess qualities that are genuinely relatable is only going to make them as obnoxious as the Microsoft Office paperclip assistant. However, once they do develop sufficiently complex modus operandi, quirks and other indicators of genuine personality, people will treat them with empathy whether or not they have a cutesy cartoony face.
